Philatelic & Postal History of the Channel Islands. The Channel Islands Specialists Society was formed in 1950 for the study and collecting of Stamps These include not only the larger islands of Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney, but the smaller ones Sark, Herm, Jethou, Lihou, Brecqhou, as well as the other islands such as Brehon, Burhou, Ortac, Les Minquires, Les Ecrehous, Chausey Islands and a host of others including the French Islands. It has now extended it,s field to include Postcards, Occupation History and Social History. The Society meets in London about four times a year, has a weekend meeting once a year, has a competition day, two auctions a year, sends out four editions of the Society's Journal, 'Les Iles Normandes' a year and attends quite a few fairs around the country. | ||
