PB01: An Excellent Example that would be Impossible to Upgrade
Code PB01: SG2 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Black: 4 very hard to find large and even margins. The stamp, in an A-G position, has an extremely well-marked red Maltese Cross cancellation. The Penny Black itself is superb with a near perfect centering. Has a pencilled numeral 3 on the reverse on a clean paper. An excellent example that would be impossible to upgrade.

PB02: An Attractive Penny Black with a Lightly Marked Maltese Cross
Code PB02: SG2 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Intense Black: 4 margins with a very nice, lightly marked red Maltese Cross, clearly giving way to show the young Queen Victoria's face. Shown was B-H, the 4 margins are well spaced with the lower portion in a generous border. The reverse is shown to be extremely clean. A very neat stamp, well worth its value with well defined borders, intense black background and very nicely marked cancellation.

PB03: Superbly Detailed Penny Black with a Complete Cancellation
Code PB03: SG3 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Black: 4 margins with a greyish black tone, showing superb details to Queen Victoria's face and the crown. The engine turnings on the background are also shown very clearly in this B-H Penny Black and with lightly pencilled on the reverse. VFU+ with a Cat. price of £300.00. This stamp came from Plate 1A which was the very first ever plate that was made to produce the Penny Black. The red Maltese Cross cancellation is near perfectly centered and complete cancellations are scarce.

PB04: Crisp Detailing on a Rich Black Background, Very Nicely Cancelled
Code PB04: SG2 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Black: 4 margins. Rich black backrop, showing a good contrast to the Queen Victoria profile, the K-H stamp would have been cut from nearly the middle of the stamp sheet. As observed from the stamp, the words POSTAGE and ONE PENNY are printed with a thicker bold text. The rich red Maltese Cross superbly contrasts with the black background, making this a stunning piece for any serious collector. This particular piece comes from a very much less encountered, if not scarce Plate 6.

B05: Outstanding Penny Black with Even Borders and Light Cancellation
Code PB05: SG2 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Intense Black: 4 evenly distributed margins on an intense black background makes this J-G Penny Black an excellent speciment. The Maltese Cross is slightly off-centered southwards which allows the Queen's portrait to be clearly seen with good details. More importantly, a clear watermark on the reverse is shown. This piece comes from Plate 2.

PB06: A Penny Black with Generous Borders and a Well-Centered Crisp Cancellation
Code PB06: SG2 / 1840 issued Penny Black 1d Black: The well centered crisp strike of the deep red Maltese Cross cancellation gives this Penny Black a sense of spacious scale. This O-K stamp from the scarce Plate 6 has very generous borders all round. Unperforated Victorian stamps with large borders as this piece are very well sought after and hard to find.
